Peachtree String Quartet, April 25, 2016

The Peachtree String Quartet was formed in 2012 by four of Atlanta’s most accomplished string musicians: Christopher Pulgram, director and violinist; John Meisner, violinist; Yang-Yoon Kim, violist; and Jennifer Humphreys, cellist. All four players are distinguished members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and have performed around the world as soloists and chamber musicians.

Summit Piano Trio, May 16, 2016
Robert played on the first Casual Classics season and has become like a member of our family.  Our 10th anniversary season is complete with another appearance by him on piano.  Performing with him will be Helen Kim on violin and Charae Kruger on cello.  These three musicians have performed all over the world in symphonic and chamber music concerts.  They are three of the reasons Kennesaw State University has such a great reputation for its music performance and music education programs.

Rebecca Loebe, October 12, 2015

Rebecca Loebe is known for her distinct voice, well-crafted songs and ability to bring an audience to her journeys, introducing them to the characters she meets and observations she makes as she travels.  In 2011 she was a featured contestant on the first season of NBC’s “The Voice,” winning a spot on Team Adam and an iTunes Top 10 single worldwide with her captivating re-imagination of Nirvana’s “Come As You Are.” Earlier this year she was ranked #9 on Alternate Root magazine’s annual listing of the “30 Best Female Singers in America.”  Last year, Becca toured from coast to coast in the US and in the Netherlands. This year, along with her US itinerary, she will appear in several venues in various parts of the UK.

David Brothers Trio, November 9, 2015

While a member of the United States Army Band, Andy David performed throughout the United States and in 26 foreign countries as principal trumpet in the Concert Band and as jazz soloist with the Army’s Jazz Guardians and Soldiers of Swing. At North Georgia, Professor David serves as Head of the Department of Performing Arts and Director of Bands. Andy plays piano for this concert and will be joined by John David on percussion and Tim Aucoin on bass.

Marc Unger, February 22, 2016

Marc performs in the United States and Europe.  He came to the US from Manchester England to study with John Southerland, a teacher at UGA and GA State, and stayed! We are lucky to have this internationally known guitarist as our neighbor in Jasper.  Many of you have heard him play, but you probably have not heard his take on music history from a classical guitar perspective.  His insight and humor will bring the music alive and help you place the music you know in a historic perspective.

The Casual Classics Concert series operates under the auspices of Jasper Muse, Inc. a non-profit company formed to support performing arts education.  All concerts are free.  Artist fees are covered by donations from local citizens who appreciate being able to attend concerts close to their mountain homes.
